It will contain an in-depth training for an individual designated as the Safety Coordinator. As part of the package will be a training course for all your employees and for \new employees within the required time period between of 7 - 30 days. It is important the employer be able to document safety is an ongoing. A written program document be available. As part of the subscription service, the employer will conduct a monthly inspection and make necessary corrections, when necessary.
Fire Protection and Emergency Evacuation Safety Coordinator program contains 5 lessons, an initial questionnaire used to create the written program, a quiz and a certificate. The course takes approximately 35 minutes to complete. For the employees the course is only one lesson, a quiz and a certificate. It will take approximately 5 minutes. At the end of this package is a bonus course on the History of Safety and Health from the Civil War to OSHA. It takes approximately 10 minutes.Â
As part of the subscription service, written programs are required for employers with greater than 10 employees. It is recommended a company have these programs anyways. The company never would know if the number of employees might exceed 10 due to part-time or seasonal. In this course the required written programs are prepared and a lesson will explain the written programs. There are two programs, one covers portable fire extinguishers and the other is about fire prevention and the emergency (fire) evacuation program.
The Safety Coordinator will receive the same training course as the employees. An additional part of the subscription service is an initial questionnaire which describes the initial company conditions for fire prevention and evacuation. To demonstrate the safety program is ongoing, monthly inspections are conducted. These will verify conditions remain the same and if anything changes the corrective steps the company took to correct the problem.
Included with the package on Fire Prevention and Evacuation is a free course of The History of Health and Safety. This course starts with the time immediately after the Civil War when the Industrial Revolution began. At this time the worker's safety was of no concern. Guarding of belts, pulleys and equipment in general was not of a concern. Just as deaths were common out west, deaths in industry were common. Various attempts were made on the state level to make a safer environment but there just was too much political influence. The first federal action to reduce deaths occurred after a coal mine disaster. Finally, under President Johnson steps were taken in Congress to pass legislation. However, when President Johnson decided not to re-run effort for legislation ended. Under President Nixon efforts started and a compromise committee in Congress overcame the stalemate. On December 30, 1970, President Nixon signed the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
This course then explains the details of the operation of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)..
